Cost of an ER Visit With Insurance at ER Katy

ER Katy accepts all commercial and private insurance plans. This includes health insurance providers such as:

  • UnitedHealthcare
  • Elevance Health
  • Blue Cross Blue Shield
  • Cigna

All commercial insurance carriers are required by state and federal law to bill an emergency room as an “In-Network” provider. The State of Texas empowers you to use a “prudent layperson’s standard” of what constitutes a medical emergency. This means that if an average person knew of your condition and felt it could be placing your health in jeopardy, then an emergency room visit is warranted.

Does the Emergency Room accept Medicare or Medicaid?

Unfortunately, the federal government does not recognize free-standing emergency departments like ER Katy because we are not part of the traditional hospital system. This prohibits us from accepting Medicaid or Medicare. Information about ER Katy’s cash pay rates can be found below.

Cost of an ER Visit Without Insurance at ER Katy

Patients who are uninsured can still be seen and treated at ER Katy. To help make board-certified emergency care as accessible to our community as possible, we publish a list of our prices for patients who are planning to pay out of pocket.

How Does Billing Work for a Freestanding Emergency Room?

When you receive a bill from ER Katy, it will be based on your insurance plan’s copay, co-insurance, and/or deductible. We will not add any additional charges other than those dictated by those three factors.
